Background of the Study

Employee engagement has become a central focus for organizations aiming to maximize productivity, improve employee retention, and foster a positive work environment. Engaged employees are typically more motivated, demonstrate greater job satisfaction, and show a higher level of commitment to their organization (Khan, 2023). In the modern business environment, companies are leveraging technology and data to gain insights into employee behavior and performance. HR analytics, also known as people analytics, plays a crucial role in enhancing employee engagement by providing data-driven insights into how employees interact with their organization (Williams & Johnson, 2024).

Nestlé Nigeria, a subsidiary of the multinational food and beverage company, has been at the forefront of utilizing HR analytics to optimize its human resources strategies. The company operates in Kano State, a critical region for its operations in Nigeria, where understanding employee engagement is essential for maintaining workforce productivity. HR analytics at Nestlé Nigeria involves the collection and analysis of employee data to identify patterns, predict behaviors, and implement strategies that foster a more engaged and motivated workforce (Ogbonna, 2024). This study will examine how Nestlé Nigeria has applied HR analytics to enhance employee engagement, focusing on how data-driven insights can optimize HR policies and practices for better employee experiences and business outcomes.
